NONLINEAR LATERAL RESPONSE OF PILE GROUP IN CLAY USING THE MODIFIED CAM CLAY SOIL MODEL

Lateral pile response of the 3 × square group has been investigated in terms lateral displacement and maximum bending moment using three-dimensional finite element analysis. Soil is represented 8-node isoparametric elements. Piles cap are modelled 20-node The 16-node interface elements used to establish continuity between surrounding soil. by modified Cam clay criterion. entire code developed FORTRAN 90. parametric study performed investigate effect yield criteria, soil modulus, spacing, diameter length-to-diameter ratio on embedded clay. A considerable these parameters observed. It found that middle row higher than front rear rows for all cases considered study. moments reduce with an increase spacing diameter.
